Nike launches on the market the first shoe able to fasten by itself. The product will be in stores by 2016 holidays (November)
HyperAdapt 1.0, this is the name of the new model which takes advantage of the so called “adaptive fit” technology; it has a sensor, a battery, a motor and a system of cables, using an algorithm, adjusting the shoe lacing. In particular, once put the foot in the shoe , this one automatically tightens until the right level of friction is reached and, if the system is not congenial to the wearer, there are a couple of buttons located near the tongue allowing the manually adjustable lacing. The motivation moving the team Nike to create this shoe was of course the innovation need but, above all, the need to offer athletes a shoe able to best protect foot and improve posture. The shoe, claims the company, is the result of 28 years of brainstorming and 11 of research.
